Frozen to ice, cold and lonely in the night,
By time it grows, the fears deep and out of sight.
Lonely and waiting, hope’s promise fades away.
Cold winter nights, it’s like warmth is not to stay.
Flower on the wall, blooming on with time.
Watching life go by, yet its freedom is a crime.
It watches spring come ‘round, petals growing old.
But stopped in time it was, forever winter’s hold.
Petals cold and leaves are frozen, orchid grows with tears.
Finding freedom is such a strive, when orchid choked with fear.
Held back from dreams the flower quivered.
Though its beauty eternal its soul had withered.
Seasons go by and its sorrows are none but hid.
Frozen in summer lonely and cold, forever a winter orchid.
